Digital for Planet Joins INPACE Project to create digital Hub connecting Europe and the Indo-PAcific

Digital for Planet proudly joins the Horizon Europe project INPACE (Indo-Pacific-European Hub for Digital Partnerships) to advance digital cooperation between the EU and the Indo-Pacific region.

As the EU increasingly strengthens its connection to Asia, the promotion of digital technologies and the cooperation in this field are currently high on the agenda. In line with its Digital Compass Strategy and Strategy for Cooperation in the Indo-Pacific, the EU has established Digital Partnerships with Japan (2022), South Korea (2022) and Singapore (2023), as well as the Trade and Technology Council with India (2022). These high-level bilateral partnerships aim at fostering cooperation in common strategic areas in the digital economy and society sectors.

Towards a Pioneering Digital Hub

The INPACE project is a Horizon Europe Coordination and Support Action Project that aims to support the implementation of the Digital Partnerships between the EU and its strategic Asian partners. The 4.5-year project will create a multi-stakeholder Hub and expert-driven mechanism for EU-Indo-Pacific collaboration in digital technologies. The INPACE Hub will bring together leading experts from Europe and Asia within 17 thematic working groups, covering a broad spectrum of areas ranging from digital skills to future networks and Internet of trust. The groundbreaking Hub is set to play a crucial role in fostering synergies between policy and technology, and advancing the development and deployment of key human-centred digital technologies.

D4P Leading Global Engagement and Community Building

Digital for Planet will lead communication, dissemination, and community building of the INPACE Hub, aiming to engage and create synergies with a broad community of stakeholders across Europe and the Indo-Pacific region. D4P’s crucial role in the creation of this digital Hub reflects its commitment to fostering international cooperation and leveraging digital technologies to collectively drive sustainable development.
