IoT Week 2021

August 31, 2021 - September 3, 2021

The IoT Week 2021 hybrid conference will welcome the industry leaders, lead researchers and public service representatives not only from Europe but from around the world to share their views on how the technology can serve society better and identify what are the technological and societal challenges today. Previous editions of IoT Week were held, respectively, in Barcelona, Venice, Helsinki, London, Lisbon, Belgrade, Geneva, Bilbao and Aarhus. The last edition brought together over 1500 participants from 50 countries specialized in the IoT domain, including research centers, research projects, large industries, SMEs, developers, standards development organizations and policymakers, including the European Commission to exchange their knowledge.

The rising awareness of climate change has caused the popularization of sustainability and the realization that we need to do things not only differently, but better. As focus shifts to finding solutions to climate issues, technological advancements and innovation present a promising way forward.

The Internet of Things, for example, which Boston Consulting Group estimates will boom into an $267 billion dollar industry by 2021, promises to facilitate great leaps in our efforts to transform our places and spaces, from homes and offices to entire cities, into sustainable environments.

Don’t miss the session “OPENING: NEXT-GENERATION IoT FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE”, 9:00 AM, Tuesday 31 Aug 2021 (1 hour 15 minutes) where Dr Monique Calisti is one of the speakers.
