A GREEN CLOUD-EDGE TRANSITION FOR A SUSTAINABLE DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION
Digital for Planet will take part in the European Big Data Value Forum (EBDVF), the flagship event of the European Big Data and Data-Driven AI Research and Innovation community. Digital for Planet’s President Dr. Monique Calisti will join the session organised by H-CLOUD “A Green Cloud-Edge Transition for a Sustainable Digital Transformation”.
Objectives: The aim of this session is to bring together leading initiatives, experts, and researchers in the area of energy efficiency and digital innovation to discuss challenges and opportunities related to the green and secure digital transformation of the European industry.
Session Description: Edge computing is one of the key enablers for digital transformation in Europe. To ensure that digital transformation is sustainable, it is key that edge and linked technologies target energy efficiency and carbon-free approaches. In this session, HORIZON CLOUD brings together leading initiatives, experts, and researchers that are paving the way for new, secure, and sustainable data-driven solutions empowering digital transformation. The discussion will focus on:
- addressing opportunities and challenges to realise energy-efficient edge computing
- converging standardisation efforts to achieve green and secure digital transformation

EBDVF 2021 theme is “Digital Transformation powered by Data and AI”. The event is hybrid with a physical part hosted in Ljubljana and sessions streamed online.
